A 45-year-old taxi driver, Charles Oppong, has been found dead in an uncompleted building at Akyem Swedru Royal Mount Calvary in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region.

Oppong, a resident of Akyem Oda Old Town, was discovered with his hands and legs tied.

According to Adom News, he left home for work on the evening of Monday, October 21, 2024, but did not return, prompting his family to initiate a search.

The family said despite their efforts, they were unable to locate him until Friday, October 25, when residents alerted the Akyem Swedru Police about a body found in the uncompleted building.

The police, led by District Commander Philip Nketia, confirmed the deceased as the missing taxi driver, Charles Oppong.

Oppong left behind a wife and three children.

He was well-known in Akyem Oda and its surrounding areas for his reliability and friendly nature.

His family, in their pursuit for justice, has called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his mysterious death.
