Teacher trainees urged to impact positively on students

College of Education, kibi in the Abuakwa South municipality of the Eastern Region has celebrated Gender week with a call on trainees to impact positively on students when they come out of school to teach.

Speaking to the media, the Acting Vice Principal of the College, Rev. Ernest Koranteng Som drew the attention of trainees the need to live decent lives as role models to the young ones under their care.

Rev. Koranteng Som added the College has trained lots of responsible teachers who have currently spread across the country hence the need for trainees to emulate by living decent lives.

Giving his keynote address, lawyer Morris Ampaw, a Human Rights Activist/lawyer also charged young teacher trainees most especially the teeming youth to combine hard work activity with faith instead of relying only on faith.

He also advised trainees to dress decently to work as well display a noble lifestyle as they are seen as an agent so as to deal with numerous indecent acts being shown by some teachers currently on the field.

However, Dr. Margaret Atuahene of Child Education services, USA who was the Guest Speaker also spoke about the need to educate women to be ready job market in all aspects of the economy.

She, however, called on all stakeholders to support the welfare of the education of young girls to augment government's effort.

The college used the occasion to officially launch a 72-member GENDER CLUB under the patronage of Madam Margaret Baiden while deserving staff and students were also honoured for their commitment and hard work.
