Disruption of work looms in the educational sector as teachers in the Accra Metropolis who completed their studies in May, 2001 have threatened to go on a demonstration for non-payment of their salary arrears.

The affected teachers subsist on allowances instead of full salaries after 16 months on the job with the Ghana Education Service.

The affected teachers subsist on allowances instead of full salaries after 16 months on the job with the Ghana Education Service. A source at the Accra Metro Directorate of Education told THE HERITAGE that the “Concerned teachers are threatening to go on aluta should the authorities fail to pay them their arrears and put them on their correct salary scale within the shortest possible time.”
