Nyinase (B/A) Sept.21, GNA – Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, Nkoranza South District Chief Executive, has urged teachers to show compassion to their pupils and students and handle them as their biological children to keep them in school.

The government will always appreciate the good works and efforts of teachers since education is the bedrock of the country’s development and teachers are the responsible agents, the DCE said.

Mr. Agyekum was addressing the staff and school children of Nyinase and Mpem primary schools on Tuesday when he accompanied the District Director of Education, Madam Philippa Banson, to welcome new pupils to school.

He urged them to offer selfless and dedicated service and support to the education of the children to become responsible leaders in future.

Mr. Agyekum announced that the District Assembly was doing its best to provide every school community with school buildings and furniture.

He called on parents to support and encourage their children with the provision of their basic needs to sustain their interest in school.

Madam Banson advised parents to make time for their young children and organise them properly before they left home for their economic activities.

She commended teachers in the district for working hard to record an impressive performance at this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

Nkoranza South district obtained 73.45 per cent as compared to last year’s 52 per cent performance.

Madam Banson appealed to the teachers to keep their hard working spirit and to do extra work to build on the achievements made to further improve education in the District.

She advised parents to collaborate with teachers to promote discipline in schools to ensure remarkable changes in the performance of their students.
