It was a sad moment for relations and colleagues of Adwoa Agyarkwa Ayimadu Antwi, as her mortal remains were conveyed to her family hometown of Petransa near Konongo in the Ashanti Region for burial after a nondenominational requiem service on campus.
Her course mates were inconsolable as they wept bitterly when the casket was taken from the service ground at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) onto a waiting hearse to her final resting place.
Even those who mustered courage and attempted not to weep eventually broke down emotionally and ended up weeping uncontrollably triggering a general wailing on campus over the death of first daughter of daughter of the Member of Parliament (MP) of Asante Akim Central, Hon. Kwame Ayimadu Antwi.
Sympathizers made up mostly of friends and students were at the service to commiserate with the bereaved family and give their last respect to the former Chemical Engineering student whose death is still under investigation by police.
Among personalities who attended the funeral were the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Bekwai, Hon. Joe Osei Owusu, former Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Sampson Kwaku Boafo some MPs in the region and officials of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
A tribute from the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) described her death as “shocking and unbelievable”.
