Tema, (Greater Accra) 13 Sept., The Ministry of Education is initiating a programme where technical teachers will be attached to industries, Mr. Kwabena Kyere, Deputy Minister of Education, disclosed in Tema today. He said the teachers will go round the industries to expose them to the widest possible range of practical activity. Mr. Kyere was speaking at the passing out of 10 technical teachers who were on an industrial attachment organised by the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO) at its plant at Tema. He said teaching of practical skills is a significant component in the training and education of technical students and called on the teachers to impart this to them. The Deputy Minister said the initiative marks the beginning of establishing closer links between the technical institutes and industry to help equip students with employable skills.
