Technocrats are the woes of Ghana – Ghana Health Service boss

The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare, has blamed technocrats for the current difficulties confronting the country.

According to him, attitudes of some Ghanaian technocrats are impacting negatively on the country.

Dr Nsiah was speaking at a special 61st Independence Anniversary celebration dubbed, "Ghana Day" held by the Cedar Mountain Chapel Assemblies of God in Accra.

Narrowing it down to sanitation, Dr. Asare blamed the technocrats for the current insane environmental conditions bedeviling Ghana.

"I always say that the problems of this country come from the technocrats, they build the open gutters for people to throw refuse into them," he stated.

Dr. Asare believes that the cost of constructing covered drains is not different from that of constructing open ones, but these technocrats do such shoddy works as chunks of the estimated amounts end up in wrong pockets.

Hammering on this year's theme:" Ghana Beyond Aid," the former CEO of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) implored all Ghanaians, irrespective of their positions, to help build Ghana, cautioning them not to emulate the unfortunate attitudes of the technocrats.

The Ghana Health Services Director General charged Christians, especially the leaders to lead the campaign against filth, corruption and idleness and focus on the transformation of mother Ghana.



The head Pastor of Cedar Mountain Chapel Assemblies of God, Reverend Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengam could not fathom why foreigners come into the country to explore business avenues while Ghanaians sit and complain of unemployment. He also condemned the lazy nature of majority of Ghanaian youth which is evident in their demeanor.

He said no nation can develop without hard work, discipline and divine direction.

Reverend Dr. Wengam added that notwithstanding the difficulties facing the country, it continually enjoys relative peace and tranquility and charged Ghanaians, particularly the younger generation to actualize their faith through hard work .

He called for change of attitude and mentality in order to build a clean and prosperous country.

Participants were cladded in various Ghanaian dresses to depict the day as an intercessory prayer was observed for the country.

Dr. Anthony Nsiah Asare who is a member of the church, was awarded for his visionary leadership role over the years.
