New Edubiase (Ash), July 10, GNA - A girl believed to be in her early teens, has been found stranded at New Edubiase in the Adansi South district of Ashanti since June 27.

According to Mr Affum Amankwa, the Adansi South District Social Welfare Officer, the stranded girl, who gave her name as Elizabeth Bagou claimed to come from Agona-Subriso near Kwaben in the Ashanti region and is a class two pupil of Apenkwa Presbyterian school at Achimota in the Greater Accra region.

Mr Amankwa told the Ghana News Agency that Bagou has given the name of her father as Kwasi Bagou, a farmer at Agona-Subriso and said her current dependent was Linda Doku residing at Abeka Lapaz in Accra. However, all efforts to trace her relatives based on the information so far given has proved futile. The District Social Welfare Officer explained that on the morning of June 27, some good Samaritans who claimed to have found the girl stranded in the Eastern region, accompanied her to his office. When questioned about her identity, she gave that information and they then volunteered to trace it to Adansi-Subriso. The District Social Welfare Officer therefore appealed to relatives to come for her.
