An eighteen-year-old motor rider, Issaka Adams, has been ordered by the Enchi District Magistrate court to sign a bond of good behaviour for six months or in default serve six months in prison for stealing.

The court presided over by Mr Solomon Kwesi Alormatu, slapped a fine of GH¢ 360 on him.

He was convicted recently by the same court for a similar offence.

He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry, damage and stealing.

Narrating the facts of the case, Superintendent of Police Raymond Kofi Erzuah told the court that, the complainant is a businessman at Kubease near Dadieso in the Suaman District.

He said on April 17, at about 1 am there was a downpour which Issaka took advantage of and broke into a container store belonging to one Georgina Cudjoe and stole an amount of GH¢ 74, a carton of bathing soap, four packets of blade and four packets of blue for washing all valued GH¢ 394.00.

The prosecution said while Issaka was conveying the stolen items through the ceiling a witness in the case saw him and raised the alarm to alert people living nearby but he fled.

According to Superintendent Erzuah, the convict’s landlord also went to the area upon hearing the noise and surprisingly found his hammer at the crime scene.

He then returned to the house to check on the convict, but he was not in his room.

The prosecution said a few minutes later Issaka’s landlord saw him hurrying to the house with his clothing soaked with water.

He said Issaka was arrested in his room by the residents of the town and sent to the Dadieso Police station.
