The Human Rights Court will today hear a contempt application filed against two top officials of the Ghana Police Service by former Deputy Head of the Police Commercial Crimes Unit, DSP Gifty Tehoda.

The court presided over by Justice Kofi Essel Mensah, adjourned the case from its last hearing on January 23 after the two officers failed to appear in court.

The Judge directed that the two officials be served with a hearing notice through their legal department.

The two officials are Nantogmah Yakubu Aggrey, Chief Superintendent of Police in-charge of the Rapid Deployment Unit who was the trial officer of the Service Enquiry which led to Tehoda’s dismissal, and Commissioner of Police Rose Bio Atinga, the Chairman of the Central Disciplinary Board.

DSP Gifty Mawuenyega Tehoda is alleging the two officials undermined the authority of the High Court by proceeding to conduct a Service Enquiry when the applicant had served them with copies of a suit challenging her interdiction by the Police Service.
