Television fees to go up

Mr Asamoah Boateng, Deputy Minister of Information, announced the intention of the authorities to increase the television license fee from 3,000 to 15,000 cedis a year. This is to enable the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation to solve some of its financial problems.

He was interacting with the staff of the Information Services Department (ISD) in Cape Coast. He also met with staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation.

ISD To Serve As ISP – Deputy Minister

Mr. Asamoha Boateng, Deputy Minister for information has disclosed that plans were afoot to turn the Department into an Internet Service Provider to enable it generate more funds to finance its operations.

The Minister made the statement during his interaction with staff of the ISD at Cape Coast recently. He commended the staff of the Department for giving off their best despite the “trying conditions” under which they worked.
