Tema Anglican Archdeaconry installs youth executives

The Tema Archdeaconry Council (TAC) of the Anglican Young People's Association (AYPA) at the weekend installed newly elected executives to oversee the growth of the Association.

The executives, with a binneal tenure, are expected to spearhead the operations, development and spiritual growth of the guild in all parishes of the Archdeaconry for the next two years.

The installation service, conducted jointly with the St. Alban's Anglican Church, witnessed both sets of executives pledge to carry out their responsibilities in the interest of the Association.

The executives included; Mr Joseph Borquaye, President, Mr Daniel Martey, Vice President, Mr Jonas Anang, Secretary, Madam Esther Korkor Lartey, Assistant Secretary, Mr Obed Annor Tuo, Treasurer, Mr Ernest Tetteh Siaw, Organiser.

The rest were; Mr James Amoh Jnr., Assistant Organiser, Madam Stella Hope, Sisters Commissioner, Mr Michael Ofori, Chaplain, Mr Michael Apalbilah, Public Relations Officer, Nana Kodjo Essien, Immediate Past President and seven other branch presidents of the Association.

Mr Ernest Tetteh Siaw, President elect and other executives of the St. Alban's branch of the AYPA were also installed.

Speaking at the 13th TAC installation service at the St. Alban's Anglican Church in Tema, Venerable Major Ebenezer Nii Addy Laryea (Rtd), Archdeacon of Tema, pledged cooperation and support in their work to serve Christ and the Church.

He said the success or failure of the association depended on the association's leadership during the binneal year, calling on them to do things to the glorification of God and the advancement of his kingdom.

He further called on the Presidents-elect to "give understanding to leadership which the association required and your installation as presidents place as sacred duties upon you".

To the other elected officials, the Archdeacon emphasized on the need for the executives to fulfil, to the best of their abilities, the duties of the office to which they had been elected - to stay true to the aims and principles of the association and loyalty to Christ and the Church.

He admonished members of the association to fully cooperate with the executives with a renewed readiness to support them to carry out policies, plans and programmes.

Mr Joseph Borquaye, President of the Association, pledged to work assiduously with other executives, and in the collective interest of the association, to ensure its ultimate growth and development.

The AYPA is a fellowship of young adults within the Anglican Church of Ghana.
