The Consequences of the BREXIT Project

Tue, 5 Jul 2016 Source: Newton-Offei, Justice Abeeku

Kieran McDermott, the anti-BREXIT Co-organizer, revealed in an interview on CNN that “after setting up a Facebook page account for only a week, we were able to mobilize over 35,000 protestors onto the streets of London on Saturday, 1st July, 2016”.This indeed, tells you how unpopular the whole BREXIT political gamble is.

Now, During the Second World War, millions of Brits and their European counterparts scrambled onto huge ocean vessels and travelled to North America as refugees. As a matter of fact, the legendary TITANIC, which took off from the English port of Plymouth enroute to America, but hit an iceberg and sunk, was carrying tens of thousands of economic refugees seeking a better lie abroad. But today, descendants of these migrants are the very ones ironically threatening to erect concrete walls along the US-Mexico border, vowing to ban all Muslims from entering America, closing doors to Syrian refugees and spearheading BREXIT.

The commonwealth consists of 53 independent and sovereign nations and Britain, spearheaded by the English, are comfortable being incharge, with the Queen of England, as head.

The United Kingdom

The united kingdom itself, comprising independent states as Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and overseas territories as Gibraltar and Falklands,is also, being spearheaded by the English, with the Queen of England as head.

For years, the people of Northern Ireland, ostensibly the nationalist block whose military wing is the Sinn Fein, have waged war to break away from United Kingdom and reunite with the Irish Republic. But the rest of UK, spearheaded by the English, have fervently resisted this.

I have lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Milton-Keynes to be precise, and from a personal experience, the English have always had this notion of being superior to every other people on earth. This therefore makes them inherently racist who even look down on their very neighbors in the United Kingdom [Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish].

When it comes to international competition, for example, the English will cleverly field a separate team in disciplines where they're strong[football],but will quickly turn round to be part of a combined United Kingdom team when it comes to areas they lack strength[athletics].

My English colleagues at the workplace always prided themselves in how they're a very small nation but have succeeded in spreading their language all across the globe with the strongest currency on earth, and therefore don't have to bother learning to speak any other language. They even make fun of Scots, Irish and Welsh.

Now, when Scotland wanted to breakaway from the United Kingdom recently, the English politicians, including the very ones who spearheaded the BREXIT, were the vociferous ones campaigning for Scottish voters to reject the idea.

I have researched into why Britain voted to exit the EU, and the reasons were largely centered on "foreigners coming to take our jobs, engaging in crime etc.". But the point is, it is completely erroneous for anybody to claim his/her job has been taken over by a foreigner, when the said individual is able and willing to work.

Fact: those who blame their woes on influx of foreigners are the infinitesimal lazy bunch who are shamelessly engrossed in this nonexistent siege mentality and island exclusivity.

Voting pattern

The voting patterns in the BREXIT polls clearly portrayed predominantly white constituencies voting massively in favor, while the immigrant dominated areas voted against it.Young voters between the ages of 18 – 25, voted 73% to stay, while those between 50 – 70 voted 83% to exit. This cements the fact that the youth who are not tied-down by the erstwhile Empire mentality, favored EU integration while the old foxes with perpetual nostalgia firmly rooted in the past, did not want to have anything to do with it.

The central counties of England comprising Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Stattfordshire, the former west midlands metropolitan county, and Worcestershire, characterized by manufacturing industries, ostensibly the auto industry. This is where Volkswagen which is owned by American company, General Motors, is located. Strangely enough, this highly industrialized enclave, is situated in the English part of the United Kingdom which comprises Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and overseas territories as Gibraltar and Falkland’s,yet, the English vociferously campaign and voted for BREXIT,while their counterparts in the united kingdom did the exact opposite.

Now, in 2015, the British Auto Industry which employs 770,000 people, exported 1.5million cars, 57% of which was to the EU market. Components for the British Automobile industry are largely imported due to the strong British pound, pre BREXIT, which made importations very competitive. But in the face of all these socioeconomic figures which positively impacted on British employees, over 99% of whom are English/whites, still voted overwhelmingly for BREXIT.

Re-emergence of nationalism

Now, following the BREXIT decision, the nationalist elements in Scotland have, once again, resurrected their call for breakaway from the United Kingdom, and join the EU as an independent nation; and I'm waiting to see if these English politicians who spearheaded BREXIT will have the testicular fortitude to campaign against the move.

This BREXIT move has forced one of the best British Prime Ministers, David Cameron, to prematurely step aside, for Boris Johnson, who is cut in the mold of Donald Trump, to possibly take over. In the end, it has become evidently clear that those who spearheaded the BREXIT project which has become of monumental fiasco, didn’t even have clear-cut strategy to deal with the possible fallout. This has resulted in total chaos on the British political landscape by way of serious blame-games and numerous resignations on both sides of the two major political parties [Labour and Conservatives].

Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson, an accomplished journalist, former London Mayor and a maverick politician who regularly writes for the Daily Telegraph, has been exposed as woefully inconsistent with his persuasions as to which side of the block he really belonged, since it has been established that he vociferously campaigned against BREXIT, only to make a dramatic summersault later. He obviously harbored an ambition for the office of Prime Minister, but after being confronted with realities on the ground, has beaten a quick retreat when confronted with the realities.

Now, after voting to exit EU, the Brits then unilaterally announced a timeframe within which to complete the necessary processes. But the EU council, being familiar with British superiority complex, has fired back and ordered Britain to trigger article-50 of the EU charter to begin the processes and get out with alacrity. The male rabble-rousers who championed the BREXIT project have now taken cover and left the fall-out to two female contenders, Theresa may and Andrea Leadsom, contesting to occupy the number 10 downing street, the official residence of the British Prime Minister.

And strangely enough, these two lady front-runners are also proffering different time-tables for Britain to trigger article 50 of the EU charter which paves way for the exit process to be kick-started. While Theresa May is in favour of delaying the process so that the proper structures could be first put in place, Andrea Leadsom is agitating for an immediate triggering of the process to set the process in motion. This effectively proves the point that, indeed, the agitation for BREXIT was not well-thought-through.

Consequences of BREXIT

For me, this BREXIT decision is nothing but open demonstration of nationalistic narrow-mindedness which has open the floodgates for other chauvinistic elements across Europe to start agitation for similar decisions when their real intentions are nothing but empty hatred towards foreigners due to racist tendencies. Reports has it that hate crime in Britain has shot up by 57% following BREXIT.Forinstance, last year, over 250million Britons visited Greece as tourists due to the strength of the pound. But following BREXIT, the currency has taken is drastic nose-dive, in 30years, to the point where it has become extremely expensive for Brits to embark on their cherished Greek holidays this summer.

And since I made my stance on BREXIT known, I have had varied commentaries from across the globe: And prominent amongst these commentaries are the usual over-flogged mantra of nationals from other EU countries flooding Britain to take British jobs, engage in prostitution and put pressure on social services.

And like I have stated previously, such arguments are totally flawed on the account that anybody legally resident in Britain, able and willing to work, has absolutely no basis to claim somebody has come to take over his/her job.

Island inimitability temperament

Talking about migrants of other EU countries coming to Britain and thus putting pressure on social services is the baseless island exclusivity mentality being propagated by the infinitesimal dogmatists and it is extremely worrying to see dome Africans who, for centuries, have been the target of such Empire mentality, also falling into this trap.

In the recent refugees crisis in the EU,triggered by the Syrian war, Germany, being the largest economy in the EU, admitted over one million into her borders; how many did Britain, the second largest economy, did take? It was nearly infinitesimal. Again, the constant talk of nationals from other EU countries flooding Britain, makes it seem as if Brits don't equally travel to other EU countries to seek jobs.

I have also heard others argue that "ladies from these EU countries who flock into Britain do engage in prostitution" but is it not these very British men who virtually crawl over broken-bottles to patronize the services of these beautiful sex-workers? In short, the British society thrives on pure hypocrisy, and that's what they unfortunately bequeathed to most of their colonies, particularly those in Africa.

Monitoring BBC soon after the BREXIT vote, it is pretty obvious Britons have deeply regretted for taking such a monumentally retrogressive decision, in the light of socioeconomic chaos currently unfolding before their very eyes. Big companies employing hundreds of thousands of Britons have decided to relocate, while Northern Ireland and Scotland are bent on being part of EU and have stepped up agitations to break-away from the ‘erstwhile’ British Empire.

Simply put, the BREXIT project has been a democratic gamble which only fits into the intolerant agenda of the infinitesimal nationalistic radicals.
