Alban Bagbin, has described as ‘sad’ the current happenings in the NDC with regards to the announcement of GHC20,000 and GHC400,000 as nomination and filing fee respectively.

According to the flagbearer hopeful, the NDC is fast deteriorating, leaving behind its values and principles that brought it into being and that the failure of the newly elected national executives of the party to consult the Council of Elders in determining both the nomination and filing fee is a clear breach of the party’s constitution.

“What is happening is sad because I mean, I know NDC very well and I’ve been in leadership for NDC for eighteen years now. Eighteen good years I’ve been in leadership at the national level, at parliament and also as a minister of state for eighteen good years now. The NDC seems to have deteriorated to an extent that if the members don’t stand up it will end up in nothing and that is why we won’t this things to be done now” the second deputy Speaker of Parliament told Akwesi Nsiah on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa Fm.

Mr. Bagbin further added that “many people love NDC and many people want to get the party into power but you see if you don’t get NDC properly built, streamlined and empowered and you get to power, all your work will get in vain again. The few people will capture it and do what they want”.

Meanwhile, the Council of Elders of the party are expected to meet the party’s National Executives today to resolve the seeming division in the party following the decision to charge GHC420,000 as filing fee for picking and filing of nomination forms for Presidential aspirants.

He has dissociated himself from the presidential nomination forms picked on his behalf.
