The paper carries in its centre spread a story titled "Hackman raps NDC politics". According to the story, the minority spokesman on Foreign Affairs and member of Parliament for New Juaben North, Mr. Hackman Owusu-Agyeman has appealed to the government to recognise the crucial importance of agriculture to the economy and stop politicizing programmes initiated to promote it. The paper said the minority foreign Affairs spokesman who made the remarks during the debate on the estimates for the Ministry of Food and Agriculture for 1999 urged the government to put in place realistic programmes manned by competent professionals. Mr. Owusu-Agyeman expressed dissatisfaction that the National Agriculture Team (NAT) charged to discuss and provide an effective solution to increasing food production in the country, has turned out to be another NDC trick to use state resources to capture the votes of the youth.
