The WIT School has marked its 3rd graduation and awards ceremony while celebrating 6 years of running a robust hybrid Finnish & UK curriculum in Ghana. The school's play-based and project-based learning approach and high academic standards have established it as a hub for nurturing young geniuses in the heart of East Legon, Accra.
The ceremony saw pupils graduate from preschool to kindergarten, kindergarten to primary school, and the first batch of students from primary to high school.
Former Technical Advisor, for International Planned Parenthood Africa, Rev. Mrs. Spencer, the guest speaker, congratulated the graduating classes and commended the school's management and staff for organising a spectacular event.
She further emphasised the importance of the theme, highlighting the need for grit, excellence, and creativity in various aspects of the learner’s life, including academics, business, sports, and relationships. She praised the school for exposing children to multifaceted teaching models, enabling them to discover their creative abilities.
Rev. Mrs Spencer reiterated the importance of education in unlocking life's opportunities and thanked parents and guardians for their relentless sacrifices and belief in The WIT School. She acknowledged the school's commitment to holistic early childhood development, producing confident, ethical, and responsible citizens and future leaders who will become critical thinkers and problem solvers in Ghana, Africa, and the world at large.
In a media interview after the event, Founder and Director of the WIT school, Mrs Precious Bonsu Kodo, expressed her delight about the event and as well extended her congratulations to graduating pupils. Mrs Kodo assured parents of the unwavering commitment of the school to continuously contribute to the positive development of their children.
She also took the opportunity to speak on the commitment of the school to make a social impact through the establishment of the WIT Educational Fund (WEF) which raises funds and awareness to support community literacy and educational opportunities for less privileged children in society including non-students of The WIT School.
The event also featured special recognition for outstanding teachers, PTA executives, and key individuals who have contributed to the school's growth and success which includes renowned restaurateur and entrepreneur Chichi Yakubu, the first brand ambassador of the school.
