The presidential nominee of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has bemoaned the weak economy which is not generating the investments to bring about jobs assuring to revive the sector when voted into power at the December 7 polls.
‘There are no jobs because the Ghanaian economy is weak and is not generating the investments which will bring about the jobs so that is going to be our top priority. We will put measures in place to strengthen the economy, so that the investment that has to be made will create the jobs,’ he assured.
Addressing journalists in Kumasi on Wednesday, he promised to put in place strategic initiatives that will help re-orient the economy to help Ghana move away from borrowing.
He envisaged that Ghana will produce its own stuffs materials for consumption from the industries he will establish to provide jobs for the teeming youth.
Nana Addo called on residents in Ashanti region and beyond to vote for him and the party to win power.
He assured that his government will be devoid of personal attacks and insults but will work assiduously to change the fortunes of the country.
The NPP was scheduled to organise its regional campaign in the region but could not come on due to the ban on drumming, noise making and funerals enforced by the Manhyia palace.
