Accra, Oct.30, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday appealed to Churches that organise crusades to pursue good course for humanity. He said such crusades organised jointly by churches in Ghana and their counterparts outside the country were a form of relief to many Ghanaians during this difficult time in the country's socio-economic development. President Kufuor made the appeal when a delegation of the organisers of the ongoing "Body and Soul Crusades" in Accra and Kumasi paid a courtesy call on him at the Castle, Osu.
He said such crusades were good for raising the spiritual aspect of the people.
Apostle William Adkins Junior, Head of the Greater Imani Church and Christian Centre in Memphis, USA, organisers of the crusades said it was an inspiration from God to organise the crusades in Ghana with a mission to administer to the body and souls of Ghanaians.
He said in addition to the crusade the Church imported about one million dollars of drugs and other medical supplies for the people. Apostle Adkins said the Church had planned to establish an Orphanage in the Eastern Region to cater for the children of people who had died of the HIV/AIDS because the region has the highest prevalence rate.
