The national difficulties of 1983 have contributed greatly to who I am today - Lucy Quist

The first-ever Ghanaian female to hold the position of Chief Executive Officer(CEO), in the Telecommunications industry, Lucy Quist, has confessed that the difficulties faced by the nation back in 1983 have contributed greatly to her becoming who she is today.

This came after she was asked by host, Rev. Erskine on the Y-Leaderboard Series segment of YFM’s Myd-Morning Radio Show, whether it would be right to say that the lifestyle hacks she was introduced to in Ghana, built her into who she is today.

All of life comes together to form who we are but sometimes, it’s significant events that have a bigger impact than the normal day-to-day brand and I think coming to Ghana, the biggest thing that set me off was the fact that Ghana had that famine in 1983”, she confessed.

According to Lucy, she strongly believes that experiences shape people and even though her parents both had good jobs and she had no problem economically, she cannot pretend that life in London was perfect because every environment has its own challenges.

These challenges, however, she said helped shape her life. She noted that here in Ghana, going through the tough drought and famine situation which hit the nation in 1983 while she had moved here from London, has had a huge impact on her and played a significant role in shaping her life.
