Mr Antwi Boasiako appealed to Ghanaians and foreigners living in the country to discard the impression being created by some people that the census was meant for tax collection.

He also urged them to cooperate fully with the enumerators to enable them to produce credible and reliable data to enhance national planning.

Mr Daniel Agumeh, District Statistical Officer, said borne fire, sounding of sirens and horns, ringing of church bells and beating of gong-gong in all communities would be done on September 26, the census night, to make the night a memorable one.

The Statistical Officer reiterated the importance of the census and urged the people to provide correct answers to the questionnaires.

He said the census staff would be conducting the exercise on oaths therefore the people must not entertain any fear of the staff disclosing any information to any other person.
