Tema, Feb. 3, GNA - Reverend Michael Asenso, General Overseer of The Way Chapel International, has called on the youth to lead moral lives and unearth their talents to facilitate national development. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Tema, he reminded them that as future leaders of the nation they should stand up against anything that sought to bring the good name Ghana into disrepute. The General Overseer asked parents to instil discipline in their children, adding that good parenting was aimed at helping children to grow up into responsible adults.

Rev Asenso cautioned the youth against pre-marital sex, which he noted led to unwanted pregnancies, child neglect and imposed numerous burdens on the society. He underscored the need for the church and the educational authorities to organise sex education programmes to get teenagers well informed and to help shape their sexual lifestyles. Touching on the spate of accidents in the country since the beginning of the year, the General Overseer said it was the duty of the church to pla= y an active role in educating drivers to be careful on the roads by driving safely at all times.

He cautioned Christians not to be ignorant about the devices of the devil, but to pray unceasingly against the carnage on the roads. Turning to Politics, Rev Asenso said there was the need for the electorate to ensure respect for the leadership of the country. He advised politicians to guard against abusive language to help their supporters and followers to refrain from acts that could undermine national stability. Rev Asenso urged Ghanaians not to compromise the peace and security of the nation by shunning partisan politics that tend to undermine stability.
