Kumasi, May 15, GNA - Mr Moses Donkor, New Patriotic Chairman of the newly created Old Tafo constituency, has denied reports of division among the leadership of the party and aspiring parliamentary candidates. On the contrary, he said, there was peace and unity between the constituency executive, members of the party and the aspirants.

Mr Donkor was addressing a press conference at Old Tafo in Kumasi on Friday to debunk media reports claiming that there were divisions among the leadership of the party in the constituency and the aspiring parliamentary candidates. While asking the media to be circumspect in their reportage and stop speculative reporting on the activities of the party in the constituency, he also cautioned the aspiring parliamentarians to comport themselves.

The constituency chairman charged the aspirants to conduct their campaigns devoid of personal attacks and insinuations, pointing out that who ever gets the mandate of the people at the primaries represents the party's interest.

Mr Donkor asked party members to reflect soberly on the number of years the party languished in the political wilderness and refrain from acts and pronouncements that would send the party nowhere. He said as a newly created constituency, which needed the contribution as well as moral and material support of all members, it behoved on the constituency executive and aspiring parliamentarians to unite and be purposeful to ensure a resounding victory for the NPP at the December polls.
