Former Ashanti Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Joseph Yamin has said that the pressure mounted on the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Commissioner of Police (COP), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah concerning the three kidnapped Takoradi girls is not appropriate.

Joseph Yamin in an interview on Adom FM’s ‘Mpensenpensenmu’ panel discussion argued that COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa has performed her duty perfectly in relation to the case.

“There is too much pressure directed at COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa when it should rather per the laws of Ghana be on the IGP and President Akufo-Addo as the Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces,” he said.

Commenting on Kweku Baako’s recent comments that he is hurt, sad, disappointed and that COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa should be redeployed concerning the case of the missing girls, Joseph Yamin asserted he expected Kweku Baako to hit hard on the IGP and the President just like he addresses issues of national interest for not performing to task on such a national interest story.

“ . . I expected Kweku Baako, Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper to hit hard on the IGP and President Akufo-Addo, because they didn’t do their work well to yield positive results,” he said.
