There will be no room for indiscipline – Police warned

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Ken Yeboah, the Ashanti Regional Commander, has warned against indiscipline and unethical conduct by personnel of the service.

That, he said, was not going to be tolerated under his watch of the command.

The expectation was that all officers would maintain high standards of professionalism and work with a commitment to keep the people safe, he added.

DCOP Yeboah, who was interacting with journalists in Kumasi, gave high marks to his predecessor, Commissioner of Police (COP) Kofi Boakye, for the good job he did to reduce crime and said the “bar would not be lowered”.

They would be unrelenting in the fight to roll back robbery, the lawlessness of Fulani herdsmen and illegal mining.

He announced that there would be an intensification of day and night mobile and foot patrols on both the highways and feeder roads.

Additionally, strong support would be given to the neighbourhood watch committees to complement the efforts of the police.

DCOP Yeboah asked criminals to reform in their own interest because they would never be allowed to have their way.

He served notice that acts of hooliganism and gangsterism would be dealt with decisively, regardless of whoever was involved and political party affiliation.

He gave the assurance that they were firmly on the ground to respond swiftly to any security threat to assure everybody of adequate security protection.

The Regional Commander applauded the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei-Tutu II, for his advice to chiefs not to intervene in criminal matters – to allow the law to work.

He called for all to be security conscious and be bold to flag up suspected criminals to the police.

DCOP Yeboah reminded journalists to cross-check their information before going public, and said, the regional police command would not hold back information from them.
