The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has called for strong resistance against a supposed government plan to recruit 11,000 persons into various security agencies across the country.

Expressing his views on the issues with Channel One TV, Mahama Ayariga stated the recruitment is a ploy by the ruling government to appease angry youth and it should be fiercely resisted.

“What is about to happen is potentially the greatest scandal in Ghana’s security sector recruitment history. This rogue exercise must be resisted,” citinewsroom.com reported.

The NDC lawmaker, Mahama Ayariga, emphasized the importance of ensuring that the recruitment process is fair and transparent to avoid further agitations from the public.

“The refusal to use a fair and transparent process to carry out the recruitment might fuel more anger against the political class and so we must fight for the youth with no political connections in order for the youth to be given a fair and equal opportunity in the process,” he added.

It was reported that the Ministry of the Interior is planning to recruit 11,000 individuals into various security agencies.

This initiative, according to reports, aims to address the backlog of applicants who have applied to join these agencies.
