A three-man delegation of the Ghana Prisons Service has left Accra to begin a three-week study tour of correctional institutions in Canada.

The tour will expose the officers to trades in the correctional service, offender treatment programs and security in correctional institutions. In a statement issued in Accra by the Ghana Prison Service said ASP Mohammed Jeduah Abudu leads the delegation. The others are Assistant Chief Officers Julius Quarshie and Anane Yeboah.

The officers will take the opportunity to familiarize with the day-to-day operations of correctional facilities in Montreal, Laval, Kingston and Quebec. They are expected back home on October one, 1999. Correctional Service of Canada, sponsors of the visit, extended similar invitation to the Ghana Prison Service last year, which afforded three superior officers to undertake an eight-week study tour.
