Three persons on Thursday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court for conspiracy to commit crime and stealing, on May 7, at Abeka in Accra.

Nana Kwame Asare, Trader, Kofi Darkwa, Sprayer and Eric Yeboah, Electrician were said to have conspired and robbed 10 pieces of 40 inches plasma digital television and 10 pieces of 32 inches plasma digital television worth GHC 35,000.00 belonging to one George Arhin.

The three pleaded not guilty to both charges but were remanded by the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh to reappear on June 2.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Kwabena Adu, told the court that the complainant is a salesman of Silvaton Enterprise Limited located at Dzorwulu, whilst the accused persons together with two other accomplices namely Acheampong and Richard now at large are business partners.

He said on May 6, the accused persons met and agreed to buy television from the complainant’s shop. On May 7, Kofi and Richard now at large went to the complainant’s shop and requested to buy 20 pieces of plasma televisions.

He said the complainant supplied the televisions to them as requested and assisted them to transport the television sets to Abeka, and offloaded them.

The prosecution said Kofi later suggested to the complainant to accompany him to his boss at a nearby house to collect the money, while Richard was left behind with the televisions.

Police Chief Inspector Adu said on their way, Kofi outwitted the complainant and run away from him. The complainant became suspicious and quickly run back to where the television sets were offloaded.

He said on reaching there, Richard and the goods were nowhere to be found.

A report was made to the police for investigations. On May 13 a witness was seen offering one of the stolen televisions for sale and he was arrested for interrogation.

He told the court that the witness thereafter led the police to arrest Nana Kwame and Eric in a hotel room at Agbogba, where one of the stolen televisions was retrieved.

The two later assisted the police to arrest Kofi at Fadaman, where three of the televisions were also retrieved, the other two accomplices are on the run.
