Three persons have been arrested in connection with the alleged lynching of a 26-year-old Liberian national, Austin Tengeeh, at Sakumono in the Greater Accra Region.

The Sakumono District Police Command confirmed that the suspects, Francis Amuzu, 44, William Adison, 36 and Vincent Adzikah, 34 are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

According to police, the incident occurred on February 27, 2026, near the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) facility at Lashibi.

A situational report indicated that the Sakumono District Patrol Team received a distress call from an unidentified individual, who reported that a man had been attacked and severely beaten by a group of irate persons in the area.

“Officers proceeded immediately to the scene, where they found the victim lying unconscious with visible marks of assault around his neck and head. He was later identified as Austin Tengeeh, a Liberian national, “a police statement said.

“Preliminary investigations suggest that the mob allegedly mistook the victim for a thief.”
