Three die in accident on Cape Coast-Takoradi road

Cape Coast, June 4, GNA - Three persons including the head of the Central Region Coordinating Council (RCC) Security, Air Commodore (Rtd) Isaac Kingsley Yalley, died on the spot at Abakam near Elmina on Friday night when a salon car collided with the Pick-up they were travelling from Takoradi towards Cape Coast.

The driver of the pick-up, Mr James Enim and one Mr Martin Hoomiah of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who was in the salon car were the other victims.

Their bodies have since been deposited at the Central Regional hospital for autopsy while Mr John Kojo, a Manager of AshantiGold, Ms Benedicta Antwi and Irene Amputey, both final year students of the University of Cape Coast, who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Sergeant Daniel Tetteh of the Cape Coast Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) of the Police told the GNA on Saturday that the salon car, which was being driven by Mr Kojo from Obuasi towards Takoradi around 10.20 pm, on reaching a spot at Abakam near Elmina collided with the pick-up killing the Air Commodore and his driver on the spot. He said the cause of the accident was being investigated.

The three persons on admission are responding to treatment.
