Tema, Nov. 15, GNA - Three masons have been fined 500,000 cedis each for diverting eight bags of cement from a company by the Tema Circuit Court "A".

The masons took advantage of the absence of their supervisor and diverted eight bags of cement meant for a day's job at a work site. Daniel Agbodza, Michael Kwao and Samuel Nyarko pleaded guilty and will go to jail for nine months in default.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that the three accused were masons of B-Plus Company, constructing a weighing scale at Kpone barrier.

She said on October 24, this year, Agbodza, who is a foreman, requested from the supervisor 14 bags of cement for the day's work and Kwao was instructed with one other at large to bring the 14 bags from the warehouse of the company to the work site.

Inspector Acquah said after close of work in the evening, the security man detected that only six bags were used and therefore confronted the masons, adding, a search was later conducted in a nearby bush and that led to the discovery of the eight bags.

She said during investigations, they admitted that they all conspired and stole the eight bags of cement.
