Three men granted bail for gambling

Three men who were caught gaming and betting at a public place have been granted bail by the Tarkwa Circuit Court.

They are to pay GH¢15,000.00 with two sureties each.

Dodzie Mawule, 48, mason, Yakubu Razak, 21, footballer and Emmanuel Asare, 21, a tailor pleaded not guilty to the offence.

They would, however, re-appear before the Court on July 30.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr Justice Alex Obeng Asante that on July 13, at about 2200 hours, the police in Tarkwa had information that a group of people were playing games with cards at the Tarkwa Railway station.

He said the group on seeing the police officers they managed to escape but the accused persons who were among them were arrested.

Inspector Amponsah said Mawule, Razak and Asare were cautioned and after investigation they were arraigned.
