Three remanded over child pornography

The 25 year old polytechnic student and two others who allegedly engaged two children in pornography and filming them on Thursday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.

Sefakor Ayeke, Ebenezer Aseidu a car sprayer, Isaac Kofi Parku Dodzi a student have been jointly charged with conspiracy to commit crime and subjecting a child to inhuman treatment. One Mustapha an accomplice is said to be at large.

Ayeke is also being held for abetment of crime whiles Aseidu aged 22 and Dordzi 18 years are also being held for indecent assault.

Aseidu pleaded guilty to the charge of indecent assault and the court convicted him on his own plea. It however remanded him and deferred his sentence to October 22.

The other accused persons have denied the charges and the court presided over by Mrs Rita Agyeman Budu has remanded them into Police custody to reappear on October 22 for trial to commence.

This was after prosecution, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sarah Acquah had prayed the court to remand them to enable police continue with their investigations.

The case of prosecution was that the complainant is a businessman residing at Michael Camp, near Tema with the first victim aged eight years and a class four pupil.

According to the prosecutor, the second victim aged 10 and Junior High School Student resides at Madina Washington with the mother.

Prosecution said all the accused persons are friends who reside at Madina Washington. In September this year during the long vacation, the eight year old victim came to spend the vacation with her cousin, the second victim at their grandmother’s home at Madina.

Whiles the victims were with their grandmother, Afeke sought permission to take them to a nearby café to play games.

Prosecution said Afeke then lured the victims into Mustpaha’s house where she agreed with Mustapha and she made the victims to suck the penis of Mustapha in turns after Afeke had demonstrated to them.

Afeke also lured the victim into a guest house and she made the 10 year old victim suck Aseidu’s penis, an act which was inhuman and degrading to the victims.

According to the prosecutor, Afeke then sucked the penis of Dordzi. Soon after the act, Afeke bought ice cream for the victims and told them not tell anyone.

ASP Acquah said Afeke filmed the act which and allegedly sent it to the USA for a fee. Later when the eight year old victim returned to her parents at Tema, she informed them about the ordeal.

A complaint was therefore lodged with the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Madina on October 2, this year by one victim’s father and the three accused persons were nabbed.

Prosecution said the case was still under investigation as the Police was trying to arrest Mustapha an accomplice who is now at large.
