Due to recent adjustments in its policy cover, Tigo Insurance customers can now enjoy a 50% increment in their hospital insurance claims. The support which formerly paid GHS20 a month now pays GHS30.
For airtime deductions as little as 15p for 10 days, customers are eligible to benefit and can claim up to 30 nights a year and receive up to GHS 900 per year instead of the previous limit of GHS600.
At a ceremony in Accra to present a claims cheque to a client, the Operations Manager of Tigo Insurance, Barbara Asante said: “Apart from the 50% increase in claims amount, our customers no longer have to be on hospital admission for 3 days or more to be eligible for the hospital support cover. Our upgraded policy now gives cover to patients who spend just a single night’s stay in the hospital”.
She further explained that all Tigo Insurance claims are paid within 72 hours. Customers are required to call 550 once admitted to hospital and bring a valid ID and excuse duty to any Tigo Service Centre to make their claim. Tigo is already paying over 300 claims per month on its Tigo Hospital Support plan.
