Preparations are underway for the final funeral rites of Fianor (Mother) Rosalia Akuyo Anyawoe, mother of Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State and President of the National House of Chiefs.
The late Akuyo Anyawoe who died on October 18, last year, would be buried on Saturday, June 29 after a two-week funeral rite.
A News release signed by Mr Stephen Tetteh, Secretary to Asogli State Council and copied the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said on June 23, there would be “Kufufuanyi”,-traditional announcement of the funeral between 1500 hours and 1700 hours.
“Afanyanya” which is the book of condolence would be opened at the forecourt of the Asogli Palace on Monday, June 24.
On Wednesday, June 26, there would be a church vigil by the Sacred Heart Cathedral at the residence of the deceased from 1830 hours to 2200hours.
There would be wake-keeping and laying in state on June 28, followed by burial mass at the OLA Senior High School park.
Firing of musketry by the Takla, Kpenoe, Akoefe and Asogli Asafo groups to bid the mother of Agbogbomefia farewell is slated from July 2 to July 6.
There would be thanksgiving mass on July 07, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral in Ho Bankoe at 0700 hours.
Drumming and choral performances through the principal streets of Ho-Bankoe and the home of the deceased are expected during the two weeks' funeral rites.
