Ho, Sept. 2, GNA - Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, is to lead chiefs and people of the traditional area to climb the Adaklu Mountain as part of activities marking the Yam Festival of the area.

The expedition is to boost domestic tourism and afford the people an opportunity to do some physical exercise, Togbe Kasa III, Divisional Chief of Ho-Ahoe, told the GNA in an interview on Wednesday. He described the Adaklu Mountain as a great tourist potential and underscored the need for it to be exploited. Togbe Kasa said features on the mountain distinguished it from other mountains and needed to be developed to attract tourists. He appealed to stakeholders to open up the place and expressed the hope that the expedition would promote the site as a major tourist destination.

Adaklu-Mountain is about 15 kilometres from Ho and is said to be home to birds and animals. It also has rivers and pools of water, some in big caves.

The summit of the mountain is flat and was used by German governors of the then Trans-Volta Togoland to direct ships. 02 Sept. 09
