Top Diplomat Appointed Secretary To President

Mr. D.K. Osei, Ghana's Acting Ambassador to Denmark is billed to be the new Secretary to President John Agyekum Kufour.

Mr. Osei, who joined the Foreign Service in 1976 and has had a distinguished career in the service, shall be on secondment for the duration of his post. A former President of the Student Representative Council of the University of Ghana (1972-73) - Dr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas was his secretary - he brings into his new post a distinguished trail of public service.

D. K. Osei, is a Class A1 officer of the Foreign Service who recently turned fifty. He attended Achimota School and the University of Ghana.

The new appointee is Fluent in English and French and has undertaken postgraduate studies at the University of Paris and the International Institute of Public Administration and International Relations in Paris.

He specialised in public international law and international economic relations and served in Paris, Conakry, Kinshasa and Copenhagen.

The new secretary is a keen sportsman who played tennis, football and hockey he was also a top athlete in his student days.
