Top leaks of 2019 that shook the country

It can take years to build a reputation, but sadly, only a few seconds to ruin it.

These may be wise words for anyone but for celebrities (Politicians, social media sensations, actors, musicians) caught being unruly on tape, they hold a special sting.

From expletive-filled rants to ‘disgusting’ conversations, just one bad moment can live forever by totally taking down a star's public image and costing them thousands of losses.

Here are some of the most cringe-worthy examples of Ghanaian personalities whose careers or reputation have somewhat been ruined by leaked footage (or audio).

While they all brought it on themselves, it's amazing how many of these stars managed to turn things around no matter how ugly things seemed to get.

NDC’s National Chairman (Ofosu Ampofo) leaked audio

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo is standing trial, together with Anthony Kwaku Boahen, a Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC, over an alleged leaked tape in which the NDC National Chairman allegedly incited violence against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Jean Mensa, and the Chairman of the National Peace Council (NPC), Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante.

In the recording, a voice believed to Mr. Ampofo's is heard urging people to take the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Adukwei Mensa to the 'cleaners'.

The voice also endorsed verbal attacks on the National Peace Council Chairman, Reverend Emmanuel Asante.

The audiotape also suggests that abductions and kidnappings could be used to silence political opponents.

The two have since pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit assault against a public officer, while Ofosu-Ampofo has pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault against a public officer.

Anas’ expose on Charles Bissue

In a documentary produced by the ace international investigative journalist, Mr. Bissue was seen allegedly taking money to help an unlicensed company to circumvent laid down processes to be given clearance for its mining operations.

The undercover investigator allegedly captured people tasked with fighting the galamsey menace receiving various sums of money, ostensibly to facilitate mining licenses.

Andy Owusu, an alleged link man to Bissue, allegedly charged Anas’s team GH¢50,000 for the team to get to Bissue.

Anas exposes ‘pastor’ for allegedly forcing orphan to eat own poop

Investigative Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas produced another documentary showing inmates of an orphanage forced to live under inhumane conditions.

Filming undercover, Anas and his Tiger Eye P.I team document horrendous cases of abuse, in one instance showing a man of God forcing a child in an orphanage to eat his own excreta.

However, the inmates of the orphanage, the documentary reveals, have never known peace as they allegedly suffer hell and torment daily, in the hands of the man of God.

Manasseh’s expose on militia

Manasseh Azure Awuni went undercover to expose the activities of De-Eye Group, a militia group believed to be associated with the governing NPP was alleged to have been training at an important state facility classified as a security zone.

According to the documentary, the group has been meeting at the facility for close to two years.

2 lovers captured in leaked sex tape at Tamale

The 31-seconds video exposes two lovebirds glued together and engaging in hot bouts of sex in Tamale.

The lady identified as Khadija was seen reacting to the leak saying “I am braiding my hair…why won’t I braid my hair? Am I the first person to have my video leaked? Keep posting we don’t want stress. We are in 2019. Tomorrow I am going to chill”.

The young man, on the other hand, was seen in another video dancing and saying” I am not bothered about them. I have not even seen themselves. Whatever you are saying is my ass.”

But their sexual escapade “ended in tears” as The Dakpema of Tamale, Naa Bawa Fuseini flogged them at his palace to serve as a deterrent to others.

Female police constable sex tape

The five minutes and fifty seconds video of a police junior officer went viral on various social media platforms.

The said video believed to have been recorded in the bedroom of the police constable with a mobile phone, showed her stripping naked, setting the camera towards where she stood after which she took off her panties, posed in different angles while caressing her breast and other private parts.

Ibrah one’s nude pictures

Naked pictures of socialite Ibrah One was leaked by an unidentified slay queen, according to sources.

The pictures have since generated conversations among a section of the public as they share their views on the footage.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian millionaire, reacting to the issue said he has been blackmailed by a prostitute he slept with three years ago.
