Ho, July 10, GNA-The Keta Platinum Seaside Resort and Marina, consisting of a variety of untapped tourism attractions in the Keta district and the Amedzofe Mountain area are to be developed into international tourism attractions at a cost of 200 million US dollars. The Volta Regional Minister, Mr Kofi Dzamesi announced this at this year's meet-the-Press series in Ho last week. The Westcentral City International Airport Limited, a Consortium of Ghanaians and Germans, would be undertaking the project in collaboration with the Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council and its 18 District and Municipal Assemblies, Mr Dzamesi said. He said the project is part of an overall tourism development package, being worked on by a German Consulting firm of Architects and Engineers, to transform the tourism profile of the region to make it the tourism destination of choice in Ghana. On the Amedzofe Mountain area, Mr Dzamesi said there would be a cable car from Vane to Amedzofe up to the Gemi Mountain. "It's very nice", he remarked concerning the design he saw. Mr Dzamesi said it was important to present to foreigners a mixed grill of something of their own and indigenous stuff as far as tourism is concerned. He said the current all-weather road being constructed from Ho through to the Avatime traditional area would be an added value to the project. 14 July 08
