Tema, Feb. 19, GNA -- An Ashaiman driver who, in the company of two others now at large, removed fuel pump and starter valued at 55 million cedis from a tractor that had been parked at Klagon has been remanded into custody by the Tema circuit court 'B'.

Kofi Twum Cobby pleaded not guilty and will reappear on March 2, 2005. Chief Inspector Teye Matey, prosecuting told the court, presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that in November, 2004, the tractor operator parked the equipment at Klagon after a day's work.

He said the following day, he detected that someone had removed the fuel pump and starter valued at 55 million cedis from the equipment. Chief Inspector Matey said following investigations, a witness told him that accused and two others removed the items in the night.

This led to the arrest of the accused by the military police at Michel Camp, who handed him (accused) to the Afienya police. However, in his caution statement, he denied the allegation.
