Trader before court for instigating House help to steal for her

Tema, July 07, GNA -- A 28-year old trader in Tema who allegedly instigated a 12-year old house help to steal 140,000 cedis and 100 pounds sterling has appeared before the Tema Circuit Court 'A' charged with abetment of crime and stealing. The accused, Benedicta Dandoe, pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of 20 million cedis to re-appear on August 01, this year.

Prosecuting Chief Inspector Sarah Acquah told the court, presided over by Mr. Charles Asiedu that the complainant Vida Taylor lives with a 12-year old house help and Dandoe lives in the same area with them.

She said on June 23, this year, Vida detected a theft of an amount of 140,000 cedis and 100 pounds from her room and suspected her house help, one Patricia Obuor. When confronted Patricia confessed stealing the money for Dandoe who promised to save it to purchase cooking utensils for her. A report was made to the Police and Dandoe was arrested for interrogation and after investigations, was charged with the offence.
