Kumasi, Dec. 12, GNA-Nana Tabiri Gyansah III, paramount chief of the Mpasaso traditional area, has congratulated President J.A. Kufuor for wining the Presidential slot for the second time running, describing the victory as a demonstration of the affection Ghanaians have in his policies.
He said by his election, President Kufuor has now assumed the role of "a father of the nation and he should strive to let his fatherly role manifest itself in all parts of the country".
Nana Tabiri made the congratulation in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi on Sunday, on the need to maintain the peace that prevailed during the elections.
He said the President's role as a father would be better felt if conscious efforts are being made to ensure that projects and services are equitably distributed to all parts of the country, irrespective of whether such an area voted for or against him. Nana Gyansah also reminded Members of Parliament of the numerous pledges they made on their campaign platforms in their various constituencies.
He advised them to strive at all cost to address concerns of the constituents as they promised and also translate all the pledges they made into concrete reality.
Nana Gyansah advised that besides law making and lobbying for projects to their areas, MPs should also resolve to pay regular visits to their areas and interact more freely with the people that gave them the mandate to represent them.
