Nana Anthony K.O. Okofo Annan, Bemehene of Gomoa Akyempim (Sub Chief) at the weekend called on Ghanaians to accept, appreciate and learn more about their cultural heritage.

Speaking at the final day of the annual Super Special Festival at his residence in Accra, he said: “Festivals and sacrifices are not for idol worshippers,” he said.

The festival is aimed at thanking God and the ancestors from the traditional area for their protection throughout the year.

The week- long festival organised by Nana Okofo Annan, was patronised by more than 700 people including chiefs and priests from a number of towns.

He urged drivers to be extra vigilant during the Christmas holidays and shy away from the temptation of driving when they are tired in order to avoid accidents.

“Let’s accept the results of the election for only one person can emerge as winner,” Nana Okofo Annan advised political parties that contested Election 2012.

He also appreciated the efforts of the security agencies for boosting security during the general election and asked them to maintain the same discipline during the holidays.
