Accra, Aug. 21, GNA - The Ministry of Transport has lodged a formal complaint against Delta Airline for its operations in Ghana and admonished the Airline to, as a matter of urgency, improve its services on the New York-Accra route.
A statement signed by Mr Kweku Sersa-Johnson, Public Relations Manager of the Ministry, said the directive was in the wake of general complaints by travellers about the Airline's poor quality services on the route and for which President John Evans Atta Mills had cause to bring to the attention of the Minister of Transport, Mr Mike Hammah. The statement said the Transport Minister followed up with a visit to the offices of Delta Airlines at the Kotoka International Airport last Wednesday to formally lodge a complaint to the Country Manager. It said in a letter dated August 19 to the Vice President of Delta Airline in charge of sales in London, Mr Hammah expressed the dissatisfaction of passengers of the Airline about the quality of its services regarding the type of aircraft being used on the route, the handling of passengers, especially at New York and its on board/in-flight services to passengers.
The Minister of Transport directed the Country Manager to "take the necessary measures to address the complaints and inform the ministry accordingly".
