The Chief Executive Officer the Travel and Tours company responsible for the transportation of Ghanaian fans to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup, ‘Travel Matters’, says his company had no written agreement with the government of Ghana for the return of the fans from the tournament.

Mr. Bryce Cudjoe disclosed this when he appeared before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate the issues surrounding the Black Stars’ participation at the 2014 World Cup.

Black Stars supporters were left stranded at the airport in Forteleza in June, after the team’s second group game against Germany.

Mr. Bruce Cudjoe told the astonished Commissioners on Monday that there was no written contract to bring the fans back from the Brazil. “We were just supposed to make the airline available on the tarmac,” he said.

He said the Travel and Tours Company “were not committed to bring back to Ghana supporters from Brazil saying, it was not our responsibility.”

Several supporters were reported to have been stranded in Brazil while about 200 others have sought asylum from the Brazilian government.
