Travel and tour agent runs into trouble with the law

A travel and tour agent has run into trouble with the law for allegedly duping 14 individuals under the pretext of securing for them visas to travel to three countries – Israel, Japan and Netherlands.

Justice Aho reportedly collected cash ranging between GH?2,000.00 and GH?9,000.00 from the victims.

He was on Wednesday put before a Kumasi Circuit Court, charged with defrauding and he pleaded not guilty.

The court, presided over by Madam Lydia Osei Marfo, granted him a GH¢200,000.00 bail with seven sureties to be justified.

He was ordered to make his next appearance on Wednesday, August 31.

Police Chief Inspector Felix Akowuah said the crime was committed between year 2015 and the early part of this year.

All, the victims live in the Ashanti Region, and had been lured by series of advertisement put out by Aho.

The prosecution said the accused failed to secure them the visas after taking the money went into hiding and every effort to get him to pay back was unsuccessful.

A formal report was therefore made to the police and he was tracked down to his hideout and arrested.

Police Chief Inspector Akowuah told the court that Aho confessed to the crime in his caution statement.
