Some Ghanaians have shared their fondest memories of the late Akua Donkor, the presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party, following her shocking death on Monday, October 28, 2024.

The passing of Akua Donkor, the Founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has left a deep void across the nation as Ghanaians reflect on her impactful moments and her iconic personality.

News of her death broke in the early hours of Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

Her well-known slogan, "enny3 no no," has become a lasting jargon in Ghana’s political history, embodying her bold approach and unwavering character.

The politician passed away at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital) after being referred from Nsawam Hospital due to her ill health.

Notable for her unconventional electoral promises, Akua Donkor, a farmer, advocated for the welfare of farmers throughout her political career.

Some Ghanaians who spoke exclusively to GhanaWeb on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, explained that they will remember the late Akua Donkor for being an inspiration for women in the country’s political sector, despite her low-level educational background.

“Despite her poor educational background, she was able to make a mark in the political space. She did very well to even become a flagbearer and was neutral in her assessment of the two dominant parties,” one of them said.

Another also said that the jovial nature and humorous moments of Akua Donkor will forever be etched in his memory.

“I remember her for reprimanding a woman for disrupting her interview when she crossed. Her comic comments were very funny and upon watching that video I started to laugh…"

He added, “She used to speak about the politics and what she will be doing when she gets the power or comes to office.”
