Some Ghanaians have expressed their readiness for the highly-anticipated 2024 general elections, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2024.

The elections will involve the voting of new presidential and parliamentary candidates, following months of campaigning across the country.

Ahead of the showdown, most Ghanaian voters are gearing up to exercise their civic duties and to get the opportunity to make wise decisions, as well as to make their votes count.

Expressing their enthusiasm for the upcoming election in interviews with GhanaWeb, some voters proudly displayed their voter ID cards to demonstrate their preparedness.

One of them said he is ready to vote and he will do so based on the current living conditions.

According to him, the increased prices of petrol products have badly taken a toll on him and his commercial transport business.

“I’m more than ready because in 2020, we voted for NPP and things have gone worse. Petrol, which was sold for GH¢14.00 is now GH¢80.00, so, now we are experiencing hardships and difficulties and this election is do or die,” he said.

Another voter shared that he is ready to cast his vote for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

He explained that the government's initiatives and policies deserve commendation and continuity, and as such, he plans to vote to retain them for further progress.

“We are ready to vote for the NPP government. They have done a lot with the free education and I’m ready to vote for them,” he also said.

Meanwhile, these Ghanaians have called for peaceful elections, emphasising the need for a process free from any chaos that could threaten the country's stability.
