The True Faith Church of Ghana is intensifying efforts at tackling indiscipline among the youth which it describes as a “major hindrance to development”.
The Church will also formulate, implement and oversee measures that would inculcate in the members of the church, their civic rights and responsibilities, as free and patriotic citizens in the country.
This will be done by organizing civic education workshops, to be facilitated by officials of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), for all its 250 branches.
Senior Apostle John Owusu Achiaw, the General Overseer of the Church, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the week-end after a church service held at Nketia in the Atwima-Nwabiagya North district.
He said everyone should play a part in ensuring discipline in the country so that the present and future generation lives in comfort and in peace to foster national development.
Senior Apostle Owusu Achiaw said the influence of foreign cultures, especially western cultures, emanating from the type of music, movies and videos, had negatively affected discipline in our society.
He called for Government’s strict censorship of foreign music to minimize its influences whilst also intensifying efforts to instil high moral values, which are deeply-rooted in the Ghanaian culture in the youth.
