The firebrand NPP former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa constituency in Kumasi, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has described counsel for the NDC, Tsatsu Tsikata as the ‘worst’ lawyer to have led the NDC to cross-examine Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the ongoing 2013 election petition.
“The perception Mr. Tsikata wants people to see him, I don’t think this court case will help him. We have heard all lawyers…but Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata makes me laugh over and over again,” he said.
The ninth day of the hearing of the substantive case was dominated by cross examination of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia by lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata.
Lawyer Tsikata examined the witness on the mislabeling of pink sheets and the absence of the stamps of the Commissioner of Oaths.
Other issues raised by the lead counsel for the third respondent were the electronically and manually generated serial numbers. He also challenged the petitioners understanding of the biometric verification process.
Speaking on Adom FM, candid Kofi Jumah underestimated Mr. Tsikata’s credibility as a lawyer and his supremacy of winning cases in court that force his party members to describe him a brainy lawyer.
“Over the years, I might think Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata faced unintellectual persons and bullied them in court. So there is this perception that Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata is best to none, but among the lawyers in court, his performance is very low,” he stated.
