?Over Mobile Phone
For demanding a mobile phone from the Musicians Union of Ghana, the Adontenhemaa of Tuobodom, Nana Nyarko Antwiwaa, who stood against the controversial song, ?Yefri Tuobodom? by the musical duo, Nkasei has incurred the wrath of the Tuobodom Traditional Council.
The Adontenhemaa has been condemned by the traditional council for allegedly posing as the queenmother of the traditional council and demanding a mobile phone during the heat of the controversy surrounding the song. This is the second time Nana Antwiwaa has found herself in trouble in her efforts to have the song banned. The first was when she invoked curses on some tenants who played the song in their house which saw her being dragged to the Suyani Palace. She was made to revoke the curse after paying some money and performing some rituals.
The mobile phone was said to have been handed over to her when the Musicians Union of Ghana, led by Alhaji Sidiku Buari, picked her in Sunyani to join them to the Tuobodom traditional council to seek peace over the song.
That according to the Chief of Tuobodom, Nana Obeng Ameyaw II, had cast a slur on the integrity of the people of Tuobodom particularly for posing as a queenmother which was published in the dailies. He said until Nana Antwiwaa corrected the anomaly that she is not the queenmother and rendered an unqualified apology she would not be entertained in the traditional council.
On her part, Nana Antwiwaa denied ever posing as the queenmother of the traditional council stressing ?I have always been Adontenhemaa, but if it has been published that I am a queenmother, then it might be the printer?s devil.?
According to her, she never demanded the phone, however, she explained that when she stood against the song, many people wanted to contact her ?therefore, I said, ?if you want to speak to me then give me a mobile phone so that you can communicate with me? and this was not meant to bring a disgrace to anyone.
Nana Antwiwaa said the wrath she had incurred had nothing to do with the mobile phone but the fact that she was getting publicity though she was an Adontenhemaa of a family in Tuobodom.
